Pesky Mutant Rats
by Pure's Harry Holmwood

Once again, it's time to update you on Rat Attack, Pure Entertainment's forthcoming PlayStation game.

Last time we told you about how we've increased the size of the team - this is working really well. We've updated our level-creation toolset, making the whole process of improving the graphics a whole lot easier.

Simon (who is also Pure Entertainment's Development Director) is working flat out on gameplay code, implementing those pesky mutant rats which cause the Scratch Cats so much heartache. Next up will come Bennett and Yippy Yappy, the game's two dogs.

Visually, the game has improved dramatically over the last three weeks - the lighting and special effects routines (thanks to Weeksy) are phenomenal - we now have realistic smoke, particles, water and even rain!

Finally, we've spent a lot of this week polishing off our music - we're working with an exceptionally talented composer called Andrew Melvin, who's produced over four hours of music especially for Rat Attack. You'll hear some of this soon…suffice to say, you've never heard anything quite like it before!
