Mutant Mayhem
by Pure's Harry Holmwood

Welcome to part two of The Making of Rat Attack, Pure Entertainment's forthcoming 4-player PlayStation game.

If you've read part one, you'll know all about mutant space rats Washington and Jefferson, and their attempt to take over the world!

They've kidnapped Pearl, the streetwise pussycat from LA - you've got to save her! As you battle your way through the game, you'll travel through houses, gardens, haunted houses, cemeteries, museums, robot factories, the fun house and even outer space!

Each Scratch Cat is equipped with an 'Eraticator', a state-of-the-art rat trap. Use it carefully to trap as many rats as possible...then drop them in the 'Destructor' and they're history!

Mutant Mayhem
Sometimes, you'll catch a glimpse of a Genetic Blueprint Rat (GBR) - looks harmless enough, doesn't it?
Don't be deceived, these little critters are lethal once they enter the 'Mutator'. The GBR has a weak genetic structure, and is prone to mutation...with deadly results.

Shown here is just one of the many mutant rats in the game, the deadly devil rat!

Back to Work
So, how's the team doing now? We've got the e3 trade show in Atlanta at the end of May, and we're just finishing off a demo for Rat Attack's first public outing.

Regular readers will be glad to know that Pat's fingers are now mended, and he's programming away at full speed once more. The pressure's on, and there are a lot of late nights ahead. The game camera is now complete thanks to Steve G, while Weeksy is starting to work on the terrifying 'King Scarab' boss level...but more on that some other time.
